Google is increasing usage limits in AI Studio for subscribers to its AI Pro and AI Ultra tiers and adding access to its Nano Banana Pro image generation model and Gemini Pro language model within those subscription plans.

The changes are intended to give developers a smoother path from prototyping to production inside AI Studio, Google's browser-based development environment for building with its Gemini models.

Subscribers can now experiment with higher usage allowances and the two additional models without immediately switching to pay-per-request API billing, the company said.

Google described the subscription as a "low-setup billing bridge" for builders working on applications before full-scale launch, saying developers can move from an initial idea to a working application in minutes with predictable costs.

Migrating to standard pay-per-request API keys for production launches remains straightforward within AI Studio, the company added.

AI Pro, priced at $19.99 per month, and AI Ultra, at $124.99, already provide tiered access to Google's Gemini models, image generation and coding tools across consumer products.

The AI Studio expansion extends those benefits into the developer workflow, reducing the gap between consumer experimentation and paid API usage.
