Spotify now lets Muse, Meta's personal artificial intelligence (AI) agent, control playback and manage music through conversational voice commands.
Users can ask Muse to play songs, podcasts and audiobooks, save tracks to their library, and create or edit playlists.
Spotify says Muse can also turn users' notes and briefings into Personal Podcasts they can listen to.
The agent can start themed playlists automatically based on a user's schedule or circumstances.
Meta and Spotify give the example of a road trip or morning work session in a user's calendar, with Muse starting a suitable playlist at the right time.
Spotify is the first major music streaming service to connect to Muse, following the agent's launch in September and an earlier set of connections to other companies' services.
The move has drawn criticism online, with users and creators calling for an opt-out option.
Critics are concerned about automated music selection and how their data is shared between the two companies.
The deal is the latest step in Spotify's push to build AI into its products.
The company recently let Premium subscribers edit their Taste Profile using AI prompts to refine the recommendations on their Home screen.
Meta is also extending Muse to its smart glasses.
