CodeRabbit, which builds AI-powered code review and monitoring tools, said it raised $143 million in a round co‑led by Atomico and Smash Capital.

The company said the proceeds will bankroll international expansion-building on a new London office-to accelerate growth across Europe and to enter Japan and other Asian markets, and to further develop its AI review and agent capabilities while funding support for open‑source maintainers through a dedicated commitment; CodeRabbit added it will invest more than $10 million over the next 12 months to keep those capabilities free for open‑source projects.

"As AI becomes critical infrastructure for the global economy, organisations will increasingly need independent governance layers that can validate software regardless of which model produced it," Atomico partner Luca Eisenstecken said as he joins the company's board.

The funding valued it at $1.5 billion and included participation from BMW i Ventures, Datadog and Hirtle Callaghan, coming less than a year after its $60 million Series B, and follows traction the firm cites of more than 2 million code reviews a week for a customer base of more than 17,000.

CodeRabbit said the next milestone is to convert the capital into regional go‑to‑market expansion across Europe and Asia while preserving its free tooling for open‑source projects.
