Nvidia’s equity investments reached $99 billion, a more than tenfold increase from a year earlier as the chipmaker expands financial backing across the AI stack.

The company said this ramp included commitments of more than $40 billion in 2026 and moves intended to deepen its ecosystem, with capital flowing to frontier labs, specialised cloud providers and infrastructure firms such as OpenAI, CoreWeave and Nebius, the company said in its earnings.

“We have a clear interest in ensuring that our customers and partners prosper to provide future business for Nvidia,” Ian Fogg of CCS Insight told CNBC.

And the dealmaking ranges from large frontier investments, Nvidia has invested nearly $50 billion in the frontier AI labs, to at least $6.5 billion into photonics and optical networking and stakes that have swelled in public names like Intel and SpaceX.

The near-term picture the company laid out includes financing programmes that will mobilise capital at scale.

This includes partnerships to mobilise more than $500 billion in GPU financing and conditional credit support of up to $105 billion for an OpenAI site, and strategic moves such as its planned purchase of Hugging Face for $12.9 billion to broaden its software footprint.
