Moonshot AI is targeting $2 billion in annualized revenue by the end of the year, a figure that would roughly double its reported August run rate.

Bloomberg told its readers the plan as management leaned on the commercial lift from Moonshot’s Kimi family and the summer launch of its K3 model.

The company’s growth is tied to heavy usage of K3, which OpenRouter data showed generating as many as 300 billion tokens a day at recent peaks even as daily activity has eased.

Moonshot, a high‑profile Chinese AI lab that releases open model weights and sells paid API access, accepts lower per‑unit margins because its weights are freely available.

A group of mostly French investors has moved into the company amid talk of a market listing and valuations near $30 billion.

The lab also faces a serious allegation from Anthropic that it ran a distillation campaign routing about 300,000 requests to Claude Opus and harvesting more than 23 million responses for training.

Even with the revenue target, Moonshot’s projection would remain small compared with reported sales at larger rivals-roughly $40 billion for OpenAI and $65 billion for Anthropic-making execution on K3 monetization the near‑term test.
