Ualá, the digital financial platform offering banking, payments, credit and investment products, raised $197 million in a round led by Allianz X that valued the company at $3.2 billion post‑money, with Tether contributing $20 million as a participant.
The company said the capital will be used to strengthen investment in technology and to expand its financial‑product suite across Latin America; Ualá serves more than 11 million customers and operates under banking licences in Argentina, Mexico and Colombia.
"We are building the most comprehensive and innovative banking platform in the region," Ualá CEO Pierpaolo Barbieri said.
The follow‑on round, which Allianz X initially led in March 2026, included new and existing global investors such as Stone Ridge Holdings Group, Tencent, TABLE Holdings L.P., Soros Fund Management, D1 Capital Partners and Jubarte.
Ualá said the investment deepens its operational partnership with Allianz X to combine the neobank's digital distribution with Allianz's insurance and asset‑management products, and Tether's participation fits its recent push into digital‑asset and payments infrastructure following investments in Pact Labs, Mercado Bitcoin and a prior backing of Oobit.
The company said the funding will enable faster product rollout and further regional distribution partnerships as Ualá scales its technology and customer reach.
