A Google Cloud outage has knocked out services at a string of UK banks and businesses, with the tech giant saying its engineering team is working to fix the problem.
Google confirmed that "multiple services" in its europe-west2 region, which covers London, began experiencing network failures at around 07:00 BST.
Online bank Revolut, the UK's most-downloaded banking app, reported a "service disruption affecting multiple services" and said thousands of customers had experienced problems making payments and accessing funds.
Revolut said customers' "money and data are safe" and that it had been working to fix the issue since it was identified.
Halifax, one of the UK's largest high street lenders, said it was "aware some customers are having issues" with its app and website and that customers could still reach the bank by phone.
Delivery firm DPD and Royal Mail were also among businesses flagging issues, according to Downdetector, the website that tracks reported outages.
Budgeting app Emma said its services were down due to the outage and described it as a technical issue rather than a security one.
Google said it would provide a further update by 12:00 BST.
The outage is ongoing and the full extent of disruption is not yet clear.
