Harvey has raised $550 million in a new funding round, taking its valuation to $15.5 billion.

The round was co-led by Diffusion and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

The San Francisco-based company builds legal AI tools designed to automate workflows including contract analysis, due diligence, compliance and litigation support.

Harvey said the new funding will be used to expand its product and deployment across law firms, in-house legal teams and professional services firms.

A rapidly rising valuation

Existing backers including Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins and a16z took part in the round, alongside Coatue, Conviction, GIC and others.

The company previously raised $200 million at an $11 billion valuation in March, meaning its valuation has climbed significantly in a matter of months.

A fourth acquisition this year

Harvey also disclosed that it has acquired San Francisco-based Guardrails AI, marking its fourth acquisition of the year.

What the money is for

Harvey said the round will "accelerate Harvey's efforts to help law firms, in-house legal teams, and professional services firms build and own their intelligence at scale."

The company said the funding is intended to speed up the integration of new security and agent tooling into its platform, as it continues expanding beyond its original contract-review roots into a broader legal AI offering.
