Stoke Space, which is developing fully reusable orbital launchers, raised $1 billion in a Series E round led by Point72 Ventures and Spark Capital and said it will expand its roadmap to include a larger vehicle called Nova Block 2.
The company said the fresh capital will speed ongoing development of its Nova Pathfinder and underwrite work on the larger Block 2, moving engineering and production toward planned flight tests.
Size and quantity
“We have seen customers moving up in both size and quantity of their spacecraft, and that's one of the big reasons to fully greenlight the Block 2,” Chief Executive Andy Lapsa said.
Stoke said the financing, which it described as an initial close, values the company at roughly $10 billion, brings total capital raised to about $2.3 billion since its 2020 founding, and follows a fully booked Pathfinder mission manifest for the next couple of years while Block 2 is eyed for a first launch in 2029.
