X product chief Nikita Bier is stepping down after 13 months and will move to an advisory role.
Bier said that during his time leading product he had essentially rebuilt the service, calling out changes to the timeline, the Android app, chat and notifications.
“It’s time to pass the torch and demote myself to my natural state: a poster,” Bier wrote.
The company named the next leaders as Benji Taylor leading design, Jonah Katz on iOS and Mridul Singhai leading the product team.
Bier’s departure comes weeks after Elon Musk’s combined SpaceX / X / xAI companies went public and after the long-delayed and recently launched X Money initiative that had been expected earlier.
Bier, who previously founded teen-focused apps such as tbh and Gas that were acquired, became a public face of X’s product changes after joining in mid‑2025 and will remain with the company as an adviser while the new leaders take over.
