Anthropic is reportedly close to awarding Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs top roles organising its $2 trillion IPO.

If confirmed, the the move would represent the final pieces of the jigsaw ahead of market debut in mid-October.

Anthropic, the developer of the Claude family of large language models that positions itself around AI safety, has spent 2026 expanding commercial deals and arranging deep strategic capital and compute relationships.

Valuation game

Bankers and investors have pushed private valuations and revenue expectations higher this year, and Anthropic’s decision to court major global banks reflects a plan for a blockbuster public debut rather than a routine float.

Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs would join a short list of firms typically hired to underwrite and market the largest tech IPOs, a signal that Anthropic is aiming for maximum market reach.

Bankers involved expect formal marketing to begin in October with a short time-line to the middle of the month and just days ahead of the US mid-terms.
