Lyte, the robotics and artificial intelligence startup founded by former Apple Face ID engineers, raised about $165 million in a new funding round led by Maverick Silicon.
The company builds a robot "perception" layer and commercial sensor stack, marketed as the LyteVision system, that combines cameras, inertial motion sensing and 4D sensing to give robots richer spatial awareness.
Bloomberg reported the financing more than triples Lyte's valuation to $1.6 billion and included participation from returning investors including Fidelity Management & Research, Atreides Management, Key1 Capital and Ora Global, taking the startup's disclosed funding to about $272 million since its 2021 founding.
The round cements a rapid trajectory for a company that emerged from stealth earlier this year and positions Lyte to push its sensing technology toward broader commercial deployments.
