Mykhailo Fedorov, the ousted Ukrainian defense minister, is launching a defense technology company that Palantir CEO Alex Karp is set to back as its first lead investor.
The venture aims to turn lessons from Ukraine’s wartime development and deployment of drones, battlefield software and AI into products for Kyiv and allied militaries, a goal Fedorov framed as applying combat-tested systems to exportable defence technologies and partnerships.
“You and your colleagues are launching a company that I think will be defining for the world,” Palantir CEO Alex Karp said in a video posted by Fedorov, a comment the former minister used to signal the depth of the emerging commercial relationship.
The announcement gives few commercial specifics, Fedorov’s office said the size of the investment was not disclosed, but follows months of deepening ties between Ukraine and Palantir on battlefield data-sharing and AI training and comes alongside Fedorov’s parallel push to establish a defence-technology investment fund focused on battlefield robotics, interceptor drones and AI-enabled missiles.
Fedorov’s press office said it plans to announce the next stages of cooperation with Palantir gradually, marking the startup’s next milestone as the unveiling of partners, products and the structure of its planned investment vehicle.
