Apple is developing two game controllers for the iPhone that are expected to be sold under its Beats brand, according to reports.
Putting the hardware under Beats signals a move towards lower-priced, lifestyle-focused accessories. It would also mark Apple's first in-house push into dedicated iPhone controllers.
The positioning lets the company experiment outside its premium Apple lineup, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said.
"A controller makes sense in that context," Gurman said, summing up why Beats, already used for lifestyle peripherals, would be the likely home for the product.
The reports trace back to references to unreleased controllers spotted in macOS 26.7, entries that were then picked up by other outlets.
