Dell Technologies has introduced cybersecurity services and PowerProtect capabilities designed to protect artificial intelligence (AI) environments, identity systems and infrastructure, according to Seeking Alpha.

The additions include help deploying Dell AI Factory infrastructure with security controls aligned to a customer's existing IT standards.

The move reflects a shift in Dell's approach. It now treats AI workloads, including training data, vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, model registries, Kubernetes and inference services, as interdependent systems rather than files to be protected one by one.

Dell AI Factory, built with Nvidia, already incorporates security technology from CrowdStrike and Fortanix. That includes telemetry for Nvidia AI Enterprise components such as NIM and NeMo, round-the-clock managed detection and response, and hardware-based trusted execution environments, which protect data while a model is running inference.

A new "Security Hardening for Dell AI Factory" service assesses physical, virtual and application layers against a customer's internal standards. "Resilience Operations for AI" helps identify critical AI capabilities and set up recovery procedures.

PowerProtect Data Manager is being extended to preserve AI data, metadata, configurations and application context together. That allows coordinated restoration after corruption or a ransomware attack, rather than piecemeal recovery.

A new PowerProtect AI Assistant offers a conversational interface for managing cyber-resilience tasks and restores.

On identity, expanded PowerProtect capabilities are designed to restore clean copies of platforms including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and Okta. Dell MDR for Identity monitors continuously for suspicious authentication and misuse of privileges.

The strategy builds on existing Dell recovery tools. PowerProtect Data Domain is advertised with up to 75:1 data reduction and up to four-times-faster restores.

PowerProtect Cyber Recovery uses an isolated, air-gapped vault with machine learning to help identify a clean recovery point.
