Moonshot AI filed confidentially for a Hong Kong initial public offering. The Beijing-based developer of the Kimi chatbot has re-rated sharply during 2026 after multiple large private rounds and accelerating revenue tied to successive Kimi model launches.

Those rounds reportedly lifted implied valuations from roughly $10 billion in January to more than $20 billion by May and about $35 billion by July, and the company has been linked to exploration of a still-higher pre-money valuation ahead of a listing.

Kimi the focus

Moonshot’s growth narrative centres on Kimi, with reporting that some recent model launches produced in a matter of weeks more cumulative revenue than the company booked in all of 2025 and that annual recurring revenue has been cited above $200 million.

The confidential filing follows a broader pattern of Chinese AI startups choosing Hong Kong as a public market while they cash in on strong private-market valuations.

Timelines remain fluid in public reports, with prior coverage offering differing target dates for a formal prospectus and a possible late-2026 or early-2027 listing.
